Terms
These terms cover naptownwail.com, the Naptown Wail iOS app, and the paper's Instagram account and the Meta app it uses. All of them are run by Lee Harrold in Indianapolis. Using any of them means agreeing to these terms.
Last changed October 31, 2026.
The register lists DIY and independent shows in Indianapolis: who is playing, where, and when. It is free to read and needs no account.
An account is optional. It lets you follow bands, RSVP to shows, and file a show. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. You can delete it at any time from the account panel on the site or the account sheet in the app. The desk can close an account that breaks these terms.
A show can be filed on the site, in the app, by tagging @naptownwail in a post, or by sending @naptownwail a direct message. Filing one means telling the paper the show is real and the details are right as far as you know.
Send a flyer or a picture only if you made it or have the right to pass it on. Sending one lets the paper read it and print the show's details from it on the register, and link to the post it came from.
Don't send spam, ads that aren't shows, or anything meant to mislead. A filed show goes into the paper without anyone checking it first, so the desk can correct or take down any listing at any time, without notice.
Posts that tag @naptownwail and direct messages sent to @naptownwail may be read, by a person or by software, to file the show they describe. The privacy page says what is kept from them and how to have it removed.
A band page lists every show on file for that act, with the links and the photo the register has for them.
A band can change the links and the photo on its own page at /band-edit. Signing in there goes through callboard, and the page opens when the Instagram handle on your callboard profile is the band's handle on the register. Edit only a band you are in or speak for. Picking a photo means the band has the right to use it and lets the paper print it.
The desk is told about every band that is claimed. It can take back any change, and it can take a page away from anyone who edits it.
Listings come from the rooms' own calendars, from flyers, from readers, and from the desk. Rooms change bills, times, and prices, and shows get cancelled. The register is offered as it is, with no promise that any listing is complete or correct, so check with the room before you go.
The paper does not run any show, room, or band, and is not responsible for what happens at one. As far as the law allows, the paper is not liable for any loss that comes from using the register.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
When these terms change, the new version is posted here with the date it changed. The privacy policy says what the register stores. Send questions to lee@btyt.club.
